Abstract/Sommario: Productivity is a key source of economic growth and competitiveness and, as such, we need internationally comparable measures for assessing economic performance. The OECD Compendium of Productivity Indicators 2013 presents a comprehensive overview of recent and longer term trends in productivity levels and growth in OECD countries. It also highlights some of the key measurement issues faced when compiling cross-country comparable productivity indicators.

Th ...; [Leggi tutto...] According to the latest OECD report, Italy has raised its foreign aid contributions and its future targets, reversing a trend of falling development assistance, and now needs to improve the way it manages its development programmes. The latest peer review by the OECD’s Development Assistance Committee (DAC) finds that the country’s contribution to international development could be more effective with a clearer overall strategy and closer co-ordination across government departments. The review recommends institutional changes to improve the running, delivery and evaluation of development programmes, including new rules for how different government departments work together in recipient countries. Italy should also make better use of the results of programme evaluations to improve working practices.

Secondo il rapporto OCSE, l'Italia ha aumentato i contributi e innalzato il livello dei futuri obiettivi di aiuto allo sviluppo, facendo registrare un'inversione della tendenza al ribasso negli stanziamenti a favore della cooperazione allo sviluppo. Il Paese deve ora adottare misure che consentano di attuare le raccomandazioni volte a migliorare la propria gestione dei programmi di aiuti. L’ultima Peer Review dell'Italia condotta dal Comitato di Aiuto allo Sviluppo dell'OCSE (Development Assistance Committee – DAC) rileva, infatti, che il contributo italiano per la cooperazione internazionale allo sviluppo potrebbe essere più efficace con una strategia generale più chiara e un più stretto coordinamento tra i vari ministeri. Lo studio raccomanda cambiamenti istituzionali per migliorare la gestione, la realizzazione e la valutazione dei programmi di sviluppo e per assicurare la coerenza degli interventi.

It highlights how OECD countries and partner economies are taking advantage of information and communication technologies (ICTs) and the Internet to meet their public policy objectives. Through comparative evidence, it informs policy makers of regulatory practices and policy options to help maximise the potential of the digital economy as a driver for innovation and inclusive growth. This third edition of the report provides a holistic overview of converging trends, policy developments and data on both the supply and demand sides of the digital economy. It illustrates how the digital transformation is affecting economies and societies. Finally, it provides a special focus on how the COVID-19 pandemic is amplifying opportunities and challenges from the digital transformation.
