Abstract/Sommario: Il rapporto fornisce il quadro dei mutamenti che, nel periodo considerato (2012-2016), sono intervenuti nei vari ambiti di policy in materia di invecchiamento attivo, distinguendo norme e misure varate a livello nazionale e quelle di competenza delle Regioni e Province Autonome; inoltre, i dati statistici più significativi, utili ad illustrare l’impatto o almeno alcune dimensioni della popolazione anziana interessata alle specifiche misure descritte.

Abstract/Sommario: This book explores some of the salient issues relating to the impact of demographic change on the workings and outcomes of labour markets. A first chapter studies the direct impact of ageing on amployment and unemployment. However, the age structure of the workforce also shapes productivity and the scope for innovation, issues which are taken up in turn. However, the age structure of the workforce also shapes productivity and the scope for innovation, issues which are taken up in turn. Furthermore, it is often argued that a decline in the size of the workforce may be offset by an increase in the wokkers' skills and knowledge. The impact of the demographic development such as ageing and migration on the accumulation and transfer of human capital is, therefore, studied by a further set of contributions. The volume is rounded off with analyses relating to the supply of labour by women and by older workers.

Abstract/Sommario: This publication presents recent evidence and analytical work on the impact and future perpectives of demographic trends in the workforce, taking also into account education, skills and geographical mobility. It pays particular attention to the labour mobility patterns generated by the development of free mobility in Europe and simlar developments in other parts of the world.
